2nd Annual Mid-Atlantic Cycling & Multisport Consumer Expo and Swap Meet to Be Held February 15, 2004
From the official press release
January 26, 2004
Columbia, MD
For the Washington Running Report

Looking for great deals? You'll find them here!
Lifesports, Inc., parent company to Spinervals Cycling and The Triathlon Academy is pleased to announce the sponsorship and promotion of the 2nd Annual Multisport Expo and Swap Meet. The event will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2004, from 10 am to 6 pm at the Sheraton Hotel in Columbia, Maryland. Admission is $5 in advance and $8 at the door. In our first year we had over 500 attendees and this year promises to be even bigger and better!

Start the year out right!
To kick-start the fall multisport season, manufacturers, event directors, club directors, coaches, retailers and individual vendors will be invited to display product lines and sell/buy during this one day, second-year event. Area cyclists, runners and triathletes will be able to see new product lines for 2004; take advantage of great deals on new and used bikes, equipment, and accessories; sign up for events; and start thinking about the upcoming season!

MANUFACTURERS
Vendors already committed include: Orbea USA, Aegis Bicycles, American Bicycle Group (Litespeed, Quintana Roo), Cannondale, XTERRA Wetsuits and many more.

BIKE SWAP
In conjunction with the consumer expo will be a swap meet. Individuals are invited to rent table space to buy/sell and trade their used bikes, equipment, and accessories.

RACE DIRECTORS
Area race directors and club directors are welcome to come and promote their events and clubs. Last year we had representatives from The Columbia Triathlon Assc., Piranha-Sports, Reston Area Triathletes, Baltimore Area Triathletes, Mid Maryland Tri Club and others!

AREA BIKE, RUN and TRIATHLON RETAILERS
Area bike and tri retailers will be attending with previous model year inventory at blow out prices! Please note that retailers may ONLY bring previous model year bikes (i.e. 2003 or 2002 close outs) to sell and not 2004 models.

LECTURES AND TESTING
Throughout the day, athletes will be treated to lectures on various sport related topics. V02 Max and Sizecycle testing will also be offered during the day to participants.

Free Seminars this year include:

11:00 am - Swimming Faster with the Help of Training Aids by David Amato, Triathlon Academy Swim Coach
12:00 noon - Recent Developments in Nutritional Supplements by Frank Russo, PhD
1:00 pm - Power Posture: The Importance of Proper Posture in Athletic Performance by Eric Sorensen, Principle Fitness
2:00 pm - Carbon Fiber and Its Application in Bike Frame Manufacturing by Keith Baumm, President of Aegis Bicycles
4:00 pm - Performance and V02 Max Testing by Krista Schultz, Triathlon Academy

The event will be held at the Sheraton Hotel of Columbia. Room rates are discounted for vendors and event participants to $99.00 / night. To make your reservations, please call 800-638-2817 by January 31, 2004, and mention "Multisport Expo/Lifesports, Inc". All reservations must be guaranteed and accompanied by a major credit card.
