PricewaterhouseCoopers Parks Half Marathon
June 2, 2006
Bethesda, MD
For the Washington Running Report

The Montgomery County Road Runners Club, in partnership with the Montgomery Alliance, are pleased to announce the inaugural PricewaterhouseCoopers Parks Half Marathon to be run on Sunday, September 24th, 2006 at 7:00 am.

This new event will run from town center to town center. Starting in Rockville, MD, it will traverse scenic parkland along the Rock Creek Stream Valley before finishing in downtown Bethesda, MD. The Parks Half Marathon brings to the Washington region a new fall event aimed directly at runners looking for a new challenge or a final tune-up leading into fall marathon season.

The course features themed aid stations, ChampionChip timing, rolling hills, pin-point organization, a long-sleeve Brooks premium, prizes for all age groups, including mid pack and back of the pack awards, and a festive post race celebration in the heart of Bethesda.

The start is close to I-270 and the runners will return to the start from Bethesda via Metrorail. The PricewaterhouseCoopers Parks Half Marathon is limited to 2000 runners.

On-line registration is now open at www.parkshalfmarathon.com.
