Photo above: Meghan Ridgley (29) of Reston, VA was the second fastest female (17:47), followed closely by Lindsay Wilkins (30) of Arlington, VA as they near the finish line. Luke Merkel (24) of Washington, DC placed ninth in the men's race.

Interest in Event Remains High Among Dedicated Athletes and Joggers
Top photo: Abiyot Abebe was the leading male racer with a time of 15:33.

Second photo: 19-year-old Rachel White of Bethesda, MD finished fifth (19:03) among females.

Third photo: Top wheelchair athlete Shannon Franks (31) of College Park, MD traveled the course in 17:32. Gregory Holden (28) of Washington, DC began a hot day with his fifth place finish (16:36).

An Active Community Publicizes A Good Cause
Top photo: Miranda Benzel (left, age 17) of Fort Collins, CO finished strong in ninth place among women. Mia Burki (27) of Arlington, VA ran 19:38.

Second photo: Scott Anderson (34) of Washington, DC was the third fastest male (16:07).

Third photo: Many participants ran in memory of female friends or family who died of breast cancer.

Encouragement Promotes Good Health
Top photo: Youth participating in the 5K race received a special tshirt and wore bibs numbered 1. John Kohler (38) of Herndon, VA cheers for his young running mate.
