What:
Runners will want to pack a towel and a change of clothes for
Run Amuck, the second race in the MCM Event Series. The 5K
course features a variety of obstacles, including plenty of
opportunities for participants to get dirty. When:

Background:
The ChampionChip timed course begins and ends in the newly
renovated Butler Stadium. The strenuous 3.1 mile race takes
runners off-road and onto the Stadium and Fire Break trails.
Participants must navigate several obstacles including hay
bales, a tire challenge, a faux barbwire crawl, cargo nets, and
water hoses. The race culminates with a 1.5 foot deep mud pit.
Registration is closed with a capacity race field of 700
runners. The $30 registration fee includes all race materials
including the official event shirt, finisher coin courtesy of
Marine Federal Credit Union, bib, hospitality, and more.
Runners who participate in any race in the 2008 MCM Event
Series are eligible for Event Series awards. Runners will
receive points for their placement within the open male and
female categories, and within the master's male and female
categories. Age group awards will be presented for each event
and will fall into five year age increments through 70 and
older.
The new MCM Event Series invites runners and fitness
enthusiasts to participate in a range of race experiences. The
Event Series sponsored by GEICO, Brooks, and Marine Federal
Credit Union includes the Butler Relay, a 10K relay race; Run
Amuck, a 5K course featuring a variety of obstacles; RunStock,
a 5K race followed by a live concert; and the Turkey Trot, a
traditional 10K race complete with a turkey for the winner.
