Second Annual Germantown 5-Miler

Cash Purse Attracts Elite Field
The second Germantown
5-Miler returns to upper Montgomery County
on May 22, 2004. The 5-Miler benefits the Germantown branch of
the Boys and Girls Club. This family-friendly event, presented
by Seneca Creek Community Church, will take place at the Seneca
Meadows Corporate Center in Germantown, MD. The 5-miler, a
ChampionChip-timed race, begins at 8:30 am.
A 2-mile fun run, which allows strollers and dogs, will kick off
at 8:40 am.The top three overall male and female runners in the 5-miler
will win cash prizes ($300, $200, and $100). Other prizes have
been donated from local businesses and include Brooks Brothers
shoes, Fitness First memberships, a Beaux Visages Salon package,
oil changes at Cochran Automotive, dinner certificates at Red
Robin, Hard Times Cafe, Outback Steakhouse, Agro Dolce, and
Corner Bakery, and party packs from Baja Fresh, just to name a
few. Random drawings for prizes will be held after the race. Registration for the 5-miler, which includes a t-shirt, is $20
online until May 16 and registration for the
2-miler is $5. You can also
print an entry form and register by mail or fax. At the end of the run, participants will find homemade baked
goods, bagels, and fruit, as well as a moon bounce for the young
