The Perfect Mile Book Signing
From the official press release May 5, 2004 Washington, DC For the Washington Running Report
Neal Bascomb, author of The Perfect Mile: Three Athletes, One
Goal, and Less than Four Minutes to Achieve It, will be in
Washington D.C. to discuss his new book about the quest to break
the four-minute mile. May 6 marks the 50th anniversary of Roger
Bannister's historic accomplishment, which Sports
Illustrated called the twentieth century's greatest sporting
achievement.Wes Santee, the runner from Kansas who attempted to accomplish
the feat and who is featured prominently in the book, will join
Bascomb for the talk and book-signing. Read a
