Marine Corps Marathon to Offer Guaranteed Entries Tuesday, May 16 at Registration Rally

Registration Rally at Pentagon Row to be held May 16, one day
prior to the start of online registration
Local runners are invited to join the Marine Corps Marathon
(MCM) for a mid-day break May 16, the day prior to the opening
of online registration, to be among the first to secure an entry
into the 31st MCM. 1,000 early entries and active duty
discounts will be available at the MCM Registration Rally from
11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Pentagon Row in Arlington, VA. The
rally features music from the Marine Corps Base Quantico Band,
food and product sampling by Pentagon Row merchants, prize
giveaways, MCM Brooks training gear, coupon savings, and more.

"Pentagon Row is pleased to host the 2nd annual Marine Corps
Marathon Registration Rally," said Jill Powell, Marketing
Manager for Pentagon Row. "The marathon is such a highly
anticipated event in Arlington, we are thrilled that we are able
to help with the kick-off."
The MCM Registration Rally will offer entries to runners, 24
hours before online rolling registration opens May 17! The 31st
MCM, to be held October 29, is limited to 34,000 runners and is
expected to fill quickly. Online registration begins May 17 at
noon eastern on the MCM website. Last year, registration filled
in just 62 hours and 19 minutes. The 31st anniversary event is
expected to fill even faster. Fortunately, local runners seeking
an early jump on registration can sign up for the marathon at
the Registration Rally. Would-be marathoners must be present to
register and entries will not be accepted after 1:00 p.m.
Military members taking advantage of the active duty discount
are asked to bring a photocopy of their military ID.

Arlington Visitors Center, As Kindred Spirits, Bally Total
Fitness, Banner Hallmark, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon and
Spa, Gotta Run, Hudson Trail Outfitters, Lebanese Taverna, More
Space Place, Post Pentagon Row, Ristorante Murali, Smoothie
King, and Sur La Table.
Voted "Best Marathon for Families" by HerSports Magazine, the Marine Corps Marathon continues a combined tradition of dedication, sportsmanship and patriotism. Since its inception, over 300,000 civilian and military runners from all walks of life have participated, deservingly earning the event its nickname "The People's Marathon."
