Atayne, a newly launched company created to inspire positive environmental and social change through the power of sports and active lifestyles, will host a free Run for One Planet event celebrating an amazing 11,000-mile journey created to encourage environmental action.

Run for One Planet co-founders, actor Matt Hill (Shanghi Nights) and national speaker Stephanie Tait, are running across North America to educate people on environmental issues and encourage people to act. Atayne will welcome Hill and Tait as they arrive in Arlington on November 19th by hosting a 6:00 p.m. Run for One Planet event at the Potomac River Running store's Ballston location.

The 11,000-mile run began May 4th in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Thus far, Hill and Tait have run one marathon per day, enduring terrible weather, mudslides and injuries. To date, the duo has covered 4,305 miles, raising $53,500 and inspiring more than 2,500 new actions for earth. By the time they finish their run around the continent, Run for One Planet will have completed 422 marathons.

Run for One Planets goals are to inspire one million people to commit to one new environmentally friendly habit and raise one million dollars. All funds raised will act as seed money for eco-system enhancement initiatives at the grassroots level in communities throughout North America. Tait and Hill state, "It is our vision that the daily action of us running for one year will inspire others to take action to help the environment; one person, one action, one step at a time."

"All of us at Atayne find Matt and Stephanie's journey incredibly inspiring and vitally important," said Jeremy Litchfield, president/CEO of Atayne. "Their cause is in perfect concert with everything Atayne stands for - positive environmental and social change. Atayne is honored to welcome them as they arrive in the DC area, and grateful that we can host such a great event at the Potomac River Running store."

The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. on the 19th with a Run for One Planet presentation and Q&A, followed by a 6:30 p.m. half- hour fun run from the store to the WO&D/Custis Trail. The run will be led by Hill and Tait. Those not interested in the run can remain in the store. The event will culminate with a 7:00 p.m. socializing, networking opportunity back at the Potomac River Running store. The free event is open to the general public. Attendees are asked to RSVP to events@atayne.com. On the 19th, Atayne will donate 10% of all store sales on Atayne tops to Run For One Planet. The Potomac River Running store's Ballston location is at 3924 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, across the parking lot from Gold's Gym.
