Ultramarathon Man and Best-Selling Author Dean Karnazes to Visit Baltimore, MD
His quest to run 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 days.

The North Face, the world's premier supplier of authentic,

and footwear, today announced that The North Face athlete Dean
Karnazes will run through Baltimore, MD on the Under Armour
Baltimore Marathon course as number 46 of The North Face
Endurance 50 on November 1, 2006. That race took place October
14, 2006.The North Face Endurance 50, in which athlete and world's most
recognized ultra-marathoner, Dean Karnazes, will attempt to run
50 marathons in 50 states in 50 consecutive days, is a
celebration of endurance and the athletes who push preconceived
notions of what is possible. Karnazes' goal is to invite
Americans to achieve their own personal best, whether completing
their first marathon or logging their 20th. Karnazes, who is
being coached by Carmichael Training Systems for this
expedition, began his first marathon September 17 at The Lewis
and Clark Marathon in St. Charles, MS. "The mission of The North Face Endurance 50 is to encourage,
motivate, and inspire people of all ages to become active, make
physical wellness an essential and enjoyable priority in their
lives, and promote healthy, active living across the country,"
said Karnazes, "all while reinforcing the aspect and idea of
endurance running and the strength and stamina that go into this
sport." "The Under Armour Baltimore Marathon has been a growing fall
tradition in the Charm City," said Lee Corrigan, President of

running alongside our great hometown athletes and encouraging
our communities to get fit outdoors." Karnazes will utilize the most cutting-edge outdoor sports
products for The North Face Endurance 50 expedition. Karnazes
will be running in The North Face Arnuva 50 Boa with the unique
Boa Lacing System to take advantage of the "quick, on-the-fly,
micro adjustments." The Under Armour Baltimore Marathon finish line, located at M&T
Bank Stadium, will be a celebration of endurance and healthy

samples of their top endurance products being used to support
Dean Karnazes in The North Face Endurance 50. This is an

the Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival which took place on
October 14, 2006. This year an event record of 11,919 runners
participated in the sixth anniversary of the event. The
