The North Face, the world's premier supplier of authentic, innovative, and technically advanced outdoor apparel, equipment and footwear, today announced that The North Face athlete Dean Karnazes will run through Baltimore, MD on the Under Armour Baltimore Marathon course as number 46 of The North Face Endurance 50 on November 1, 2006. That race took place October 14, 2006.

The North Face Endurance 50, in which athlete and world's most recognized ultra-marathoner, Dean Karnazes, will attempt to run 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 consecutive days, is a celebration of endurance and the athletes who push preconceived notions of what is possible. Karnazes' goal is to invite Americans to achieve their own personal best, whether completing their first marathon or logging their 20th. Karnazes, who is being coached by Carmichael Training Systems for this expedition, began his first marathon September 17 at The Lewis and Clark Marathon in St. Charles, MS.

"The mission of The North Face Endurance 50 is to encourage, motivate, and inspire people of all ages to become active, make physical wellness an essential and enjoyable priority in their lives, and promote healthy, active living across the country," said Karnazes, "all while reinforcing the aspect and idea of endurance running and the strength and stamina that go into this sport."

"The Under Armour Baltimore Marathon has been a growing fall tradition in the Charm City," said Lee Corrigan, President of Corrigan Sports Enterprises. "It is an honor to have Karnazes running alongside our great hometown athletes and encouraging our communities to get fit outdoors."

Karnazes will utilize the most cutting-edge outdoor sports products for The North Face Endurance 50 expedition. Karnazes will be running in The North Face Arnuva 50 Boa with the unique Boa Lacing System to take advantage of the "quick, on-the-fly, micro adjustments."

The Under Armour Baltimore Marathon finish line, located at M&T Bank Stadium, will be a celebration of endurance and healthy lifestyle. Timex, Nature's Path, Sole Footbeds, Carmichael Training Systems, Boa Lacing Systems, and Cytomax will provide samples of their top endurance products being used to support Dean Karnazes in The North Face Endurance 50. This is an opportunity to meet Karnazes and experience The North Face endurance-inspired collection and the other top products used in training and fueling Karnazes for his expedition.
