FIT for Freedom
Fleet Feet Sports Annapolis
By Scott Broerman Ocotber 10, 2007 Annapolis, MD For the Washington Running Report
A local grassroots program, entitled, "FIT for Freedom," has
been launched by Fleet Feet Sports Annapolis. The program provides deploying military and civilian personnel
with in-store discounts and gifts prior to their deployment.
Fleet Feet Sports Annapolis continues their support by
providing free shipping of shoes, socks, and apparel when
requested by the deployed member. Deployed personnel are often
unable to acquire the correct running and walking gear within
their locations but are able to receive packages from home.
Scott Broerman, owner of Fleet Feet Sports Annapolis,
states "Fleet Feet Sports recognizes the commitment our
personnel have made to ensure our freedom and to help others
achieve theirs and we want to reward and support that. This is
a simple way we can give back and support at a local level." "FIT for Freedom" works very well within Fleet Feet Sports
Annapolis' Fitlosophy initiative, which provides a complete and
personalized fit experience. Fitlosophy is Fleet Feet's way of
doing business to exhibit and communicate a total customer
support approach that delivers the right fit for shoes, bras,
apparel, accessories etc. Fleet Feet Sports "Fitlosophy" is
just a new way to communicate to the market what we've being
doing all along. That is, taking care of and supporting our
customers with the very best in equipment and customer service. Fleet Feet Annapolis is proud to be currently supporting more
than half a dozen deployed personnel throughout the world with
this program. If you know of deploying military or civilian
personnel who would benefit from "FIT for Freedom," please
contact Fleet Feet Sports Annapolis at (410)-268-6290 or by
e-mail for more information. In addition to "Fit for Freedom," Fleet Feet Annapolis is co-
sponsoring the Navy ECRC Iraq Turkey Trot 10K in Baghdad on
November 22, 2007. Fleet Feet Sports Annapolis would like to
thank Brooks Sports for their participation in the event as
well. Brooks Sports has donated 350 technical shirts, with
Fleet Feet Annapolis providing an additional 300 technical
shirts. Fleet Feet Sports, Inc. has also donated water cups for
aid stations throughout the race. There is lots of running
going on in locations where personnel are deployed and Fleet
Feet Sports is dedicated to supporting their efforts to make
events like the Turkey Trot successful and fun!
