and Spectators Attending the Marine Corps Marathon

Quantico, VA
For the Washington Running Report

The Marine Corps Marathon has announced transportation procedures for the October 26 event. Runners, their supporters, and spectators are encouraged to take Metro, with service beginning at 5:00 a.m., for the easiest access to the start line.

Marathon runners are advised to take Metro to the Pentagon Station (blue and yellow lines). This location offers easy access to essential pre-race services like UPS Baggage Drop-off in Runners Village prior to entering the starting areas on Route 110 in Arlington. Spectators can take Metro to the Arlington Cemetery Station (blue line) to view the start, or the Rosslyn Station (blue and orange lines) to view the finish. Metro maps, prices and one-day passes are available online.

Limited free parking is available at Crystal Drive and 23rd Street in Crystal City, VA. This parking is convenient to the Crystal City Metro Station, only two stops from the start. Those parking in this area can also take the free MCM Shuttle from Crystal Drive and 23rd Street to Runners Village in the Pentagon North Parking Lot from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. This service is available to both runners and spectators.

Post race shuttles will run from the base of the Finish Festival in Rosslyn on the corner of Lynn Street and 19th Street and return runners and spectators to 23rd & Crystal Drive in Crystal City (blue and yellow Metro lines) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additionally, a fleet of eight Saturn Outlook Courtesy Shuttles will take runners or spectators (for free) to predetermined locations along the orange and red Metro lines.
