For the Washington Running Report

The George Mason University's "Fall for the Book Festival" takes place at the end of the month in Fairfax, VA.

Join Christopher Bergland, a Manhattan-based, world-class endurance athlete as he discusses his latest book, The Athlete's Way: Sweat and the Biology of Bliss at George Mason University's "Fall for the Book Festival".

Bergland, a three-time Triple Ironman Champion - (having completed the distance in a record-breaking 38 hours 46 minutes) - has competed in the Hawaii Ironman World Championship five times, as well as in Kiehl's Badwater Ultramarathon, a 135-mile race through California's Death Valley. He holds the Guinness World Record for Treadmill running and has been featured in dozens of TV, magazine, and newspaper articles including CNN, PBS, ABC, CBS, Fox, Men's Journal, ESPN magazine, and the L.A. Times.

Join Bergland on September 26, as he discusses the chemical effect of exercise on the brain, neuroplasticity and the process of re-training the mind, "superfluidity," and his own extraordinary journey toward athleticism.
