For the Washington Running Report

The end of summer always signals a switch in schedules. Things suddenly go from slow and lazy summer to full speed ahead fall. As your life becomes more hectic, it is more important than ever to pay attention to your health. That includes eating right and exercising. Fleet Feet Sports, Gaithersburg is here to help you stay healthy this fall. This specialty running store has been helping the local fitness community reach their goals for the last 3 years. One of their specialties is the quality running programs offered throughout the year. There are programs for all levels of running ability and each program has a specific race as its goal from 5K to marathon distance. This is a great way to meet new people in the running community and accomplish a goal at the same time. Participants receive tons of educational information and guidance and a free moisture- wicking shirt.

This fall marks the start of three new programs:

Beginning 5K Training Program, starting October 1st and meeting every Wednesday evening at the store. The goal race is the Frederick Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis 5K on December 6th. Cost: $120*

8K Training Program, starting October 20th and meeting every Monday evening at the store. The goal race is the Rockville Jingle Bell Jog 8K on December 14th. Cost: $120*

Marathon/Half Marathon Training Program, starting November 11th and meeting every Tuesday evening at the store and Saturday morning for the long run (location TBA). The goal race is the National Marathon & Half Marathon on March 21, 2009. Cost: $150*

What you will receive:

* Moisture-wicking shirt
* Numerous information sessions
* Detailed Training Program
* Weekly E-newletters
* Weekly group run (biweekly group run for the Marathon/Half Marathon Program).

* Please note the price does not include race registration.

For more information, contact Coach Jenn Gill for all three programs.
