September 27, 2008
By Katherine Minahan September 23, 2008 McLean, VA For the Washington Running Report
CENTURY 21 New Millennium is proud to announce the First Annual
McLean 5K Run, Walk, Roll to be held on September 27, 2008 at
8:00 a.m. The McLean 5K is being held to benefit the Children's
National Medical Center. Our race logo has also been designed
by a talented Children's patient.Children's National Medical Center is a proven leader in the
development and application of innovative new treatments for
childhood illness and injury and is the only exclusive provider
of pediatric care in the metropolitan Washington area.
Children's cares for more than 360,000 patients each year who
come from throughout the region, the nation, and the world.
Children's also provides more than $47 million in uncompensated
care and is proudly ranked consistently among the best
pediatric hospitals in America. Race donations will go directly to Dr. Bear's Toy Chest. Dr.
Bear's Toy Closet is a room filled with donated toys, games,
books, and other items which boost the spirits of patients of
all ages. A well-stocked toy closet is essential to ensure that
every patient has a gift for the holidays, their birthdays, and
most importantly a little something to serve as a reward for
their courage and strength in fighting an illness or going
through a treatment. CENTURY 21 New Millennium welcomes anyone who would like to
participate by becoming a sponsor, making a donation, and
especially coming out as a community to run, walk or roll.
CENTURY 21 New Millennium is very excited to be the host
sponsor, bringing the McLean community together for such a
wonderful cause. We look forward to seeing everyone on
September 27, 2008.
