Brain tumors are the second leading cause of cancer death in children and young adults, and one of the fastest growing causes of cancer in the elderly. The Brain Tumor Society is a national non-profit organization committed to finding a cure for brain tumors through research, education, and support. Proceeds from the race benefit the Brain Tumor Society's medical research efforts. Donations to the society are accepted. In the five-year history of the race, donations have reached nearly $1 million for The Brain Tumor Society.
