This beautiful 5K course starts and finishes between 12th and 13th Streets NW, on Pennsylvania Avenue in the heart of downtown Washington, DC. The course takes you east along Pennsylvania Avenue, bearing left at Constitution Avenue, and then turning right onto 1st Street. Pass in front of the U.S. Capitol building on your left, and the reflecting pool on your right. At Independence Avenue, bear right and proceed south on 3rd Street. Turn left onto D Street, left onto 2nd Street, and proceed north back to Independence Avenue. Bear right and pick up 1st Street again in front of the Capitol. Follow the route back to the start. The course is generally fast and flat, and offers spectacular views of the Nation's Capital in springtime.
