Capital Running Company has evolved from a basic finish
line company to an event management and
promotion company which specializes in large events,
first-time events, and ChronoTrack - the
latest, disposable tag timing technology. We provide complete race management services, from
concept design, to event marketing and
promotion, to event management, all the way to the finish
line and beyond. We maintain a current
database of over 50,000 active runners throughout the
Metropolitan Washington area including Northern Virginia. We
enjoy
developing and coordinating event publicity, including
coordinated advertisements, flyers, brochures,
posters, Web sites, media spots, and t-shirt design.
We have published the Washington Running Report for 24
years. It has become the "must-read"
regional running publication for runners of all abilities. In
2006 we redesigned the publication with a more current layout
and an eye towards enhanced readability. We
provide publicity for your race or products through
pre-race articles, advertisements, registration forms, course
maps, photos, and results in both print and
on the Internet. We also provide a telephone "hotline" and
mailbox, faxing of entry forms on request,
mail processing, bulk brochure distribution, and a variety of
computer services.
Since 1996 we have been developing our skills
with the Internet. We post race results by on raceday, usually
from the race site. Our comprehensive online calendar is
continuously
updated as we get new information. We
design, host, and update individual race Web sites that
answer all of the participants' questions.
Post-race photos document how much fun people had at
the events.
We currently serve over forty clients each year in addition to
owning and operating three races of our
own. Those races are the St. Patrick's Day 8K in March, The
Veterans Day 10K in November, and the Jingle All the Way 10K in
December. We have gained invaluable experience at many races
in a variety of situations over the years. We
believe we know what will be successful and what may not
work for a particular event. Through our event advertisers, we
are involved with many more races, both
large and small. We enjoy applying the lessons that we have
learned from our involvement with larger events to the first
time and smaller yet growing races.
As such, we can provide complete consulting services,
concept design for new races, national
coordination of series races, and "turn-key" operations for
events of all sizes, from small community
races to large regional races with thousands of runners and
walkers. We can create a unique or
family-oriented theme to suit your event.
We believe that the best way to achieve a successful event
is for the client to focus on sponsorship and
volunteers. We can handle all aspects of registration,
procurement, print and Web promotion, vendor coordination,
course design and certification, police and governmental
agencies, and even credit card processing in order to free the
client to concentrate their time and talents on achieving their
goal of a successful, well managed event.
On raceday we can provide all the services necessary for a
memorable event. We offer site design,
start/finish line design and management, course layout,
on-site registration, disk jockey, professional
announcing, accurate electronic transponder scoring,
ChronoTrack disposable D-tag timing, detailed results for each
participant with both clock and net times, Internet posting,
and a thorough post-race evaluation.
We evaluate, develop, and master technology in our pursuit
of conducting an outstanding event. We
operated a multi-user Unix system for scoring, pioneered
the use of a network with Runscore, used
barcode readers to improve accuracy, and brought the
ChampionChip to the region. After eleven years mastering
ChampionChip technology for road races and triathlons we are
the first to provide ChronoTrack in the region. The ChronoTrack
disposable D-tag is the
timing system of the future for all active sports.
We take great pride in our work, in the success we help our
clients achieve, in the enjoyment of the
participants, and the satisfaction of sponsors. Once we
have established a relationship with a client, we
are committed to do whatever it takes to make the event
successful.
