Global Running Leader to Provide Apparel, Engage Training Groups, and Participate in Community and Youth Investment

The 2008 National Marathon is proud to announce Reebok International, Ltd. as the "Official Outfitter" for the 3rd annual Marathon and Half Marathon to be run Saturday, March 29, 2008.

Reebok has provided quality sporting footwear, apparel, and accessories to the world since its founding in 1895. "Reebok is constantly looking for innovative ways to bring a higher level of comfort and performance to its athletes, including those running the National Marathon," says Reebok's Todd Klein, Senior Director of Global Running and Federation.

In addition to providing technical t-shirts for all National Marathon participants, Reebok will be the lead sponsor designation for all 2008 Official Training Groups for the race. Training groups will provide running schedules, coaches and Saturday group runs for 16 weeks, starting on December 8, 2007. Reebok also supports the National Marathon's youth investment activities including the Junior Monumental Milers Program (JuMMP) in cooperation with the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation, a program which encourages area youth to run or walk 26.2 miles leading up to the morning of the National Marathon. Reebok, the Official Outfitter, will be providing t- shirts to all participants in these programs.

"Having Reebok on board is not only exciting for our race," says Greater Washington Sports Alliance President, Robert Sweeney, "but it also is a huge stride toward promoting the sport of running and fitness in the Greater Washington area."

Keith Dowling, National Marathon Race Director, looks forward to working with Reebok this year and into the future. "The best part about this partnership is that Reebok is not interested in entering into a relationship for a year and walking away. The company shares our commitment to growth for the National Marathon and for the sport of running in this region."
