Boston Bound Marathon Training Program

Running Strong Coaching and Training will begin its
Winter/Spring Marathon Training Program in Montgomery County,
Maryland: "Boston Bound" starting on January 3, 2009
The Boston Bound Marathon Training Program is a coached, group
training program directed by Coaches Mike Broderick and Steve
Hays which is designed to prepare the participants for the
challenge of running the Boston Marathon. The program can be
adapted for, and is open to runners, doing other spring
marathons such as the National, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and
Frederick Marathons. The program will consist of 2 group workouts per week. Tuesday
night runs will be at the Walt Whitman High School track, and
will focus on specific conditioning exercises, drills and race
specific running workouts. Saturday morning runs will be held
at a variety of locations, primarily the Capital Crescent Trail
in downtown Bethesda, and will focus on long runs of increasing
distances and terrain to fully train your aerobic endurance and
leg strength for the terrain of Boston. Runners will be matched with others who run at similar paces to
provide appropriate training intensities for all participants.
In addition to the group runs, there will be specific
educational seminars on various aspects of training, racing,
nutrition and supplemental strength training for runners.
