An exciting new event is coming to the Washington, DC metropolitan area this May! Gregory Taylor, founder and president of Taylored 4 Life, Inc, a health-fitness and wellness consulting firm, is producing a half-marathon, 5K run/walk, a 1-mile run/walk, and kids fun run in conjunction with the new Gaylord National Resort at the National Harbor development in Prince George's County, Maryland.

Scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2009, the half-marathon will challenge the serious runners, while friends and family members test their fitness in the 5K or 1-mile events. The 5K run/walk, 1-mile run/walk, and kids fun run will be conducted within the grounds of the National Harbor Resort, which offers runners and their family members pampering amenities and panoramic views of the Potomac River.

Details are still being developed, but there will be treats and surprises for the kids. For the avid runner, the half-marathon course combines the elegance of the National Harbor's luxurious resort and panoramic views with a route that extends through the surrounding residential neighborhoods that will challenge and reward your perseverance and endurance.

A cash purse will draw the area's top runners to the half-marathon, and random prizes will be awarded to those who stay for the awards ceremony.

A special discounted rate on hotel rooms will be available for those wishing to make a weekend of it and stay at the Gaylord National Resort. There will be activities for families and spectators.

The event benefits the Vibrant Health and Wellness Foundation.
