Registration for the 3.1-Mile Race Opens Online on January 7, 2009

Organizers of the Marine Corps Historic Half marathon (MCHH) announced the addition of a new race, the Semper Fred 5K, to the line-up of weekend events. The 3.1 mile race will begin shortly after the MCHH at 7:15 a.m. on May 17, 2009 in Fredericksburg, VA. Runners can expect a moderately flat course, beginning and ending at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center.

"I am excited to announce this new distance as part of events at the Marine Corps Historic Half," said Rick Nealis, Director. "Spectators of the MCHH, family members, friends and the local community are encouraged to register and join in the celebration of health and fitness."

Online registration begins at noon eastern on January 7, 2009 at www.marinecorpshistorichalf.com and is open to runners of all ages, however, strollers are prohibited. The $20 registration fee includes race materials, event shirt, hospitality, chip timing, and more.
