Potomac River Running Seminar Series Kicks Off
"The Importance of Core Fitness"
Ray & Cathy Pugsley February 14, 2008 Loudoun County, Virginia For the Washington Running Report
Join us for the first 2008 seminar in our 2008 Seminar
Series, "The Importance of Core Fitness". The seminar will be
held at the Potomac River Running store in Ashburn on Tuesday,
February 19 and at the Potomac River Running store in Reston on
Wednesday, February 20. (Note that free group runs at each
location are held at 6:30 PM -- come for a run and stay for
some great info!)
We welcome local medical professionals who will give these
seminars. Come hear Kinesiologist Dr. Luke Pietrantone of
Capital Rehab (Ashburn) or Physical Therapist Kerri Kramer of
the Jackson Clinics (Reston). "The Importance of Core Fitness"
will cover how your core is a key factor in your risk for
injury and your running form and efficiency. Strengthening your
core muscles can help you stay healthy, make improvements
without changing your running volume or intensity, and more.
Come and learn why core fitness matters and how to improve and
utilize your core muscles while running. These seminars are just the beginning of our series. Join us
each month to hear experts cover a variety of topics relevant
to runners, walkers, and triathletes. Most seminars will take
place on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM.
Often a particular topic will repeated on back-to-back days at
different locations, so register for the location/date that is
most convenient to you! RSVPs for these events are requested so that we can plan and
allow speakers to prepare adequate materials, etc. You can RSVP
through the events page on the redesigned Potomac River Running
Web site. Just click the In Store link.
