The Washington Post Presents the Adventures in Travel Expo
from Richartz Fliss Clark & Pope
January 18, 2005 (Updated 1/26/5)
Washington, D.C.

Visit the Washington Convention Center on January 29 or 30 for Travel Ideas - $15 per Person Admission Fee
Where can you climb a rock wall, zip down an aerial line and plan your next spectacular vacation all in one day? The answer is Washington, DC, when the Adventures in Travel Expo (ATE) hits the Washington Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday, January 29 and 30, 2005.

If you're thinking about a rainforest expedition in the Amazon, diving the Caribbean, or taking a safari in Africa, this is a great place to start. Whatever a traveler's passion - everything from skiing to snorkeling, mountain climbing to walking tours - they will find it at the Adventures in Travel Expo. Presented by The Washington Post, hundreds of destinations, resorts and attractions from around the globe will flood the show floor with every vacation option imaginable.

At the Adventures in Travel Expo, not only will singles, couples and families be able to plan their ultimate adventure vacation, but there will be lots of interactive exhibits to learn or test your skills, gather a wealth of information and attend exciting seminars like those from award-winning National Geographic photographers. In fact, amateur and seasoned photographers will have a chance to win a fabulous trip to beautiful Belize by entering the "Wild Angle Photo Contest," sponsored by National Geographic Adventure magazine. Runner-up prizes will include award-winning RedOxx safari bags (valued at $175) and ADVENTURE magazine subscriptions.

"This is our invitation to Washington, DC area residents to experience the world," says Executive Director Jim Cohen. "Adventures in Travel Expo is a total travel marketplace for those who want more from travel than sitting on a pretty beach. This is the place for those who want to experience a destination from a physical, cultural educational or spiritual standpoint, and be changed by that experience. It is for those who dream big, and a place to plan those big dreams."

The Adventures in Travel Expo will feature a full line-up of exciting activities such as a gigantic rock climbing wall, a rope bridge and aerial zip line that extends high above the show floor, a scuba diving pool where visitors can test the waters or hone their skills, and a myriad of adventure experts on hand to show all that is new in this exciting travel arena.

Exhibitors to the Washington, DC Adventures in Travel Expo include Active New Zealand, India Tourism, Africa Travel Association, Mexico Tourism Board, Iceland, Tourism Malaysia, South American Explorers, Travel Egypt, Tourism Ireland, among numerous others.
