The Harris Teeter Presents YMCA Loudoun County Leesburg 20K & 10K was held on August 14, 2005, and attracted 1300 participants. The event raised a net amount of $46,826 for the YMCA's programs.

Wendall T. Fisher, Executive Director of the YMCA Loudoun County, delivered donation checks to four local charities during the holiday season. As charity partners in the race, a donation of $2,000 each was made to Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing, Loudoun Adult Day Center, Loudoun Interfaith Relief, and ECHO (Every Citizen Has Opportunities) for their assistance with the 10K/20K races.

The 2006 date for the Leesburg 10K/20K is Sunday, August 13, 2006. Information will be posted on www.runwashington.com as it becomes available. On-line registration is available now: Sign up now!

Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing: This organization provides a comprehensive range of speech and hearing services including evaluations, therapy for adults and children challenged by learning and communication difficulties, and sales of hearing aids and other assisted listening devices. Loudoun Interfaith Relief, Inc: Provides emergency food assistance to residents in need in Loudoun County and promotes client self-sufficiency. This organization currently provides food to an average of 800 families per month from its distribution center located in Leesburg , VA. Bonnie Inman, Executive Director. (interfaithrelief@aol.com)

Loudoun County Adult Day Center: Provides licensed adult day care services and supervised activities for persons with memory loss and other chronic disabilities; and respite for family caregivers. Cheryl Flowers, Manager. (CFLOWERS@loudoun.gov)
