RRCA Updates Executive Director Search
By Brent Ayer June 29, 2005 Columbia, MD For the Washington Running Report
The Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) is nearing the end of an
extensive search for a new Executive Director and hopes to have
the successful candidate in the office by August 1, 2005.
RRCA President Bee Andrews indicated she was "thrilled with the
level of interest in our Executive Director position. More
importantly, we are excited by the level of the candidates'
qualifications.
We are nearly at the end of our search and selection efforts and
are confident that we'll have a solid leader in place at our
national office by late summer."
Search Committee Chair Lisa Paige, also the RRCA's Western
Region Director, has reviewed over 70 applications for the post
and has led a thorough process that has included both telephone
and in-person interviews. The final round of interviews will
take place in Columbia following the Fourth of July weekend.
The RRCA is the nation's largest grassroots running
organization, representing over 670 clubs consisting of 160,000
individual members. The RRCA provides informational resources,
insurance, coaching certification, on-line event registration,
support for emerging national class distance runners, and other
services to the running community.
