About the Leesburg 10K/20K Race
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Leesburg 10K race, which is organized by the YMCA Loudoun County, a branch of the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington. Last year the event had a record 1470 runners.

The YMCA Loudoun County 10K/20K race continues to support four additional local charities, in the tradition of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association, the originators of the race. Some of the race net proceeds are shared with Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing, ECHO (Every Citizen Has Opportunities), Loudoun County Adult Day Center, and Loudoun Interfaith Relief, Inc., all of which provide valuable services to the community and much needed volunteers to help with the race.

The YMCA Loudoun County has been serving the greater Loudoun County community for more than 24 years, providing quality childcare services and family programs. Through our after school programs and summer day camps, we enrich the lives of hundreds children each year. To make our services available to every child who needs us, the YMCA Loudoun County gave out over $90,000 in financial assistance for our programs in 2007. It is fundraisers such as the Leesburg 10K/20K which enable us to provide services for all of Loudoun's citizens, regardless of ability to pay.

About the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington
