Journey To Better Pathways:
8th Annual Pathways Schools 5KFun Run/Walk

By Jessica Henderson
March 24, 2005
Silver Spring, MD
For the Washington Running Report

Building on past successes, The Pathways Schools, a private non- profit special education school for 9-21 year old students, will hold its 8th Annual Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, May 14, 2005.

The USATF certified 5K course begins adjacent to Northwood Presbyterian Church, and winds through beautiful Sligo Creek Park. This family-oriented event is designed to combine family fun and exercise, with raffle drawings and prizes awarded after the race in age and gender categories. Proceeds from the race fund the academic, therapeutic, vocational and fitness components of The Pathways Schools programs.

Walk-in registration begins at 8:00 a.m. at Northwood Presbyterian Church, 1200 University Blvd., West in Silver Spring, MD. A registration form to fax or mail is available at www.pathwayschools.org. Registration is $15 before April 22nd and $20 thereafter. Everyone who registers for the Run/Walk will receive a free commemorative T-shirt.

The "Journey to Better Pathways" Fun Run/Walk is an excellent way to combine family fun and exercise while supporting the unique programs that enable the students of The Pathways Schools to take responsibility for their lives and become independent members of the community.
