Music Makes It Fun at the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K

Hirschler Fleischer CD Give-away for First Market Mile Kids Run

With 25 bands and musical acts performing free for the 31,000 runners and walkers of the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K on April 5, spectators and supporters can also look forward to an eclectic and enthusiastic musical festival.

"These bands are hot, hot, hot," says Sports Backers event manager Ray Patterson. "And there will be variety that everyone will enjoy, so come on out and cheer the runners and the musicians."

Radio Stations to Broadcast Live Remotes from Anderson & Strudwick Party Stops - 98.9 Liberty will be at the course turnaround at Monument & Chantilly, Y101 will be at the Robert E. Lee Monument; 96.5 the Planet will be at Monument & Malvern; Mix 103.7 will be at Monument & Boulevard, and K95 will be at the start line.

Silly Bus CD Give-away -- Hirschler Fleischer Law Firm is sponsoring the release of "Watch Me, I Can Do This," which was written and recorded by Richmond-based band Silly Bus specifically to encourage the youngsters who are competing in the First Market Mile Kids Run on Saturday, April 5, 2008.

"We are excited to bring "Watch Me, I Can Do This," by Silly Bus to the First Market Kids Mile Kids Run," said Jim Weinberg, President of Hirschler Fleischer. "We value our relationship with Sports Backers and support their mission to promote youth fitness in the region."

Silly Bus, several members of which are employed by Hirschler Fleischer, debuted the song live on the CBS 6 WTVR morning program Virginia This Morning, on Friday, March 21. Every child who participates in the First Market Mile Kids run will receive a complimentary CD of Silly Bus songs, featuring "Watch Me, I Can Do This," courtesy of Hirschler Fleischer at the Anthem Health & Fitness Expo.
