Pacers Running Stores and Puma present the 2nd annual Last Man Standing 5K race this weekend at the Draper Invitational in Alexandria, VA.

The Last Man Standing 5K is a competitive 5K track race that will take place in the intermission of the Draper Invitational, a high school track meet with more than 30 high schools and more than 1,000 high school athletes. The race is slated for 2:10 p.m.

Thirteen runners will be racing for more than $1,000 of prize money. The first place runner earns $500, second place $250, and third takes home $100. Fifty dollar prizes will also be awarded to runners who lead selected laps.

The 5K race is twelve and a half laps around the track. After each lap, the runner who is in last place will be pulled off the track. The runner who is in first place after the 12 1/2 laps will be the "Last Man Standing" and takes home the $500. Pacers Running Stores is locally family owned and operated.

Locations include: Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, VA, and Silver Spring, MD.

Puma technical line of running shoes can be found at all four pacers locations. The Puma Complete Eutopia won the Spring 2008 "Best Deput" for a cushioning shoe.

A few slots still remain for the race. Competitive athletes (under 16:00 for 5K) can e-mail Chris Farley for a possible entry.
