Registration for the 4th Annual Nation's Triathlon to Benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Opens December 1, 2008.

Race organizers announced today that registration for The 4th Annual Nation's Triathlon To Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will open 12:00 a.m. on December 1, 2008. Those interested in registering for the race should go to www.nationstri.com.

The first triathlon in the nation to benefit research toward curing blood cancers, the Nation's Triathlon will take place Sunday, September 13, 2009 in the nation's Capital. It offers a new course for 2009 that includes a 1.5K swim in the Potomac River, 40K bike course through Washington, DC, and a 10K run through downtown DC's historical landmarks.

According to Charles Brodsky, founder of the Nation's Triathlon, "The Nation's Triathlon sold out early in 2008 so we urge those who are interested to register early. This Olympic distance triathlon continues to grow and attract thousands of world class athletes, with athletes from nearly 300 cities nationwide competing in 2008. In 2009, it will feature an exciting new course that offers spectacular views, historic landmarks, and incredible challenges for the novice and veteran triathlete alike."

Reviews for the 2008 course reflected the spectacular scenery: "The venue was amazing," noted one competitor. "How often do you get the opportunity to swim under the Memorial Bridge, ride without cars through DC, and run on a flat, well- supported course past some of DC's best landmarks?"
