By Roxana Hoveyda September 5, 2007 Washington, DC For the Washington Running Report
The Army Ten-Miler today announced that for a second year
TANDBERG, a global leader in visual communication, signed on as
a major sponsor of its annual ten-mile run. TANDBERG will
provide videoconferencing to enhance the race weekend
experience for the more than 26,000 runners and 623 teams from
around the world, as well as runners participating in shadow
runs at Camp Taji, Al Asad, and Camp Victory in Iraq. TANDBERG will enable runners to make private video calls to
loved ones stationed at bases across Iraq from the race expo at
Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel free of charge. In addition, the
TANDBERG Interactive Zone will use videoconferencing to enable
live presentations from running experts nationwide, including
Jeff Galloway, Author and U.S. Olympian. Participants will see,
hear, and interact live on TANDBERG equipment a first ever for
the Army Ten-Miler. "TANDBERG is honored to partner with the Army Ten-Miler to
connect soldiers with their families during race weekend and
enable deployed troops to see their loved ones face-to-face,"
said Joel Brunson, president, TANDBERG Federal. "We are proud
to participate in the Army Ten-Miler again this year and do our
part to support the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation programs
that the proceeds from this noteworthy event benefit." Runners can register for private 30-minute videoconferences
through September 26. To learn more about registering for a
call or the activities taking place in the TANDBERG Interactive
Zone, please visit www.armytenmiler.com.
