By Gene Brtalik September 26, 2007 Baltimore, MD For the Washington Running Report
Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) announced today that Force 3
has signed on as sponsor of the 2007 Under Armour Baltimore
Running Festival. Force 3 joins Dunkin Donuts and USAA as first
time sponsors of the seven-year old event.
Force 3 will be the Official Technology Provider of the Under
Armour Baltimore Running Festival and will make it possible for
spectators, whether they are at home in any part of the world
or on-site on race day, to track runners throughout the race at
various points along the course. Fans can either access this
information via text message on their cell phones or e-mail or
through the official
web site. In addition, runners will be able to
access their results and splits immediately following the race
in the Force 3 Results Tent.
"Force 3 is proud to be the Official Technology Provider of the
Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival. We've watched this
marathon grow into one of the premier events in our region and
we are thrilled to provide the runners' family and friends a
means to track their runners throughout the race," stated
Krissy Edell Kelley, Director of Marketing for Force 3. "It's
exactly what we do best....implementing the right technology
solution that offers businesses and individuals better
performance and a better experience. To that end, the
Baltimore Running Festival is the perfect fit for Force 3."
"Having Force 3 and this technology at our disposal puts us on
par with the other elite races around the country," commented
Lee Corrigan, president of Corrigan Sports Enterprises. "Now
friends and families will know where their loved ones are on
the course and be able to watch them cross the finish line."
The 2007 Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival, which
consists of the Under Armour Baltimore Marathon, CareFirst
BlueCross BlueShield Half-Marathon, United Way 5K, Legg Mason
Funds Team Relay and Kids' Fun Run, will take place on
Saturday, October 13, 2007 at M&T Bank Stadium. The event has
generated more than 60 million dollars in revenue for the city
and more than 3 million dollars for local charities. Even after
organizers increased the number of slots to 5,500, for the
fourth-straight year, the half-marathon has sold out. In
addition, the Running Festival has recently seen its 12,000th
runner register, putting it on pace for 14,000 participants
this year.
