Professionals Connecting to the Community 5K Walk/8K Race
By Fitness Heights International
September 15, 2008
Washington, DC
For the Washington Running Report

This year's race will be another segment to our Caribbean Sounds Race series. The Professionals Connecting to the Community event will feature Professional and Youth. The Race will be fun, all you have to do is be present and the youth will race against you, making it a challenging and rewarding race. The 5K Race will continue up some hills to the half way point and return 1.5 miles. The 8K will continue up hill for a total of a 4K seeing the beautiful waterfall and crossing the bridge and return for 4K. It will be held on Sunday, September 21, in Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC.

Expose youth to DC Finest Professionals. Post Race, you have the option to participate in fun networking and mentoring. We will divide the youth by their career interest. If they do not pick a career interest, we will either help them decide or include them in the undecided section. Each Career Path will have both adults and youth interact and go through role play with the youth. Donations for the race will help with future dates to have a Professional/Youth Conference filled with seminars presented by some of DC

Lunch will be served for the youth and we will have a panel of professionals speak to the youth at the Lunch and Learn Breakout session. The Running Coach will also give a pep talk on preparing for the race, along with the staff input as well.

For more information, including details about the race and to register online, go to CaribbeanSoundsRace.com or call the Race Director at 202- 262-8267.
