
3M 5K: Racing To Save Lives
Information
Join us on October 26 at 9:00 am for the 5th Annual 3M 5K:
Racing to Save Lives! There will be a post-race Brunch for all
race participants and volunteers. We are happy to announce that
we will be using the ChampionChip to score the race again this
year.Charity Beneficiary: The Marrow Foundation was created in
1991 by Admiral E.R. Zumwalt, Jr, to secure support from private
sources for the work of the National Marrow Donor Program. The
Foundation's goals are:
- to help increase the size and diversity of the national Registry;
- to assist patients with financial need as they search the Registry for a marrow match; and
- to sponsor research to improve the understanding and outcome of unrelated marrow transplantation on a worldwide basis.
Come out to the race and:
- Join the National Marrow Donor Program National Registry of unrelated marrow and blood stem cell donors. donors and become a life-saving marrow donor.
- A community marrow recruitment drive will be held during the 3M 5K from 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM. Free typing for the first 300 volunteer donors. To learn more about marrow donation, log-on to www.marrow.org or call (202) 872-8404.
Volunteers are needed to make this race a success. All
volunteers will receive a race t-shirt, post-race refreshments,
and the satisfaction of contributing to a successful event.
Register online at the race Web site (coming soon). It's
fast and easy. You will be contacted in early October concerning
your assignment.Please note: Strollers or baby-joggers are welcome in the
race. Just be aware of your surroundings, line up in the back of
the pack, and run sensibly. No refunds. Please pick up your t-
