Charity Beneficiary: The Marrow Foundation was created in 1991 by Admiral E.R. Zumwalt, Jr, to secure support from private sources for the work of the National Marrow Donor Program. The Foundation's goals are:

  1. to help increase the size and diversity of the national Registry;

  2. to assist patients with financial need as they search the Registry for a marrow match; and

  3. to sponsor research to improve the understanding and outcome of unrelated marrow transplantation on a worldwide basis.

Come out to the race and:

  1. Join the National Marrow Donor Program National Registry of unrelated marrow and blood stem cell donors. donors and become a life-saving marrow donor.

  2. A community marrow recruitment drive will be held during the 3M 5K from 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM. Free typing for the first 300 volunteer donors. To learn more about marrow donation, log-on to www.marrow.org or call (202) 872-8404.

Volunteers are needed to make this race a success. All volunteers will receive a race t-shirt, post-race refreshments, and the satisfaction of contributing to a successful event.
