MMRF Race for Research 5K Walk/Run

MMRF Race for Research 5K Walk/Run

Date and Time
Sunday, November 5, 2006 8:00 am

The 5K walk/run begins promptly at 8:00 am. The event will be held rain or shine.

Location
West Potomac Park, Washington, DC

ChampionChip Timing
The ChampionChip timing system will be used to score the 5K race. The system uses a computer "Chip" which must be tied to runners' shoelaces, and records the exact time a runner crosses the starting line as well as the finish line, resulting in a net time for each runner. Overall awards will be based on "clock time," and age group and team awards will be based on net time.

All participants will be required to wear the chip during the event. Runners without a timing chip will not be timed or shown in the results. All participants must return their chip at the conclusion of the race or be charged $35.00. You must wear your ChampionChip on your shoe and cross the mats at the start and finish to be scored. If you are unfamiliar with running in a ChampionChip race, please read the article Running in a ChampionChip Race

About the Event
This race benefits the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for multiple myeloma. Proceeds from the Race for Research will go toward research in finding a cure for multiple myeloma.

What Is Multiple Myeloma?

What is the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation?
The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) is a non-profit organization driven by a single purpose: to accelerate the search for a cure for multiple myeloma. Learn more about the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation by visiting their Web site at www.multiplemyeloma.org.
