Goodwill of Greater Washington, United Studios of Self Defense, and Kingstowne Family & Cosmetic Dentistry present Spring Forward 2004, the Kingstowne 5K Run/Walk & Festival to promote personal and community wellness. Help us promote the condition of being healthy and sound in mind, body, occupation, and community.

ChampionChip Timing
The ChampionChip timing system will be used to score the race. The system uses a computer "Chip" which must be tied to runners' shoelaces, and records the exact time a runner crosses the starting line as well as the finish line, resulting in a net time for each runner. Overall awards will be based on "clock time," and age group and team awards will be based on net time. You must wear your ChampionChip on your shoe and cross the mats at the start and finish to be scored. Awards
Medals will be awarded to the top three males and females and the top three males and females in the following age groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over.

Random Prizes will also be awarded to every 50th finisher!

Stay for the awards ceremony and prize drawings, to be held at 11:00 am.

The Festival
Every runner has access to all of the festival activities. Celebrate personal and community wellness from 8 am to 4 pm with a martial arts show, music provided by 98.7 WMZQ, fingerprinting for kids by the Sheriff's Department, register to vote, games for kids, bounce houses, and special guest appearances. Late Registration and Packet Pick-Up
On-site registration and packet pick-up for pre-registered runners will be held at the United Studios of Self Defense at Kingstowne Towne Center on Thursday, July 22 and Friday, July 23, from noon to 9:00 pm. On race day, registration opens at 7:00 am, also at the United Studios of Self Defense.

Charity Beneficiary
Proceeds from this event will be donated to Goodwill of Greater Washington. $5 from each entry fee will go directly toward Goodwill programs.

Directions
From the Beltway (I-495), exit onto Van Dorn Street south. Turn right on Kingstowne Boulevard. Turn right into the Kingstowne Towne Center and then left at the first intersection. Look for the festival area in front of the Safeway.
