During discussion of their performances at the Army Ten Miler
on the RunWashington e-mail list serve, many runners expressed
gratitude that they did not have to run around Hains Point.
Races at Hains Point are run on a flat, fast course on a good
surface in a natural setting with little traffic. What's not to

9. I already spend too much time thinking about what

must be like as a duck.
8. The mile marker I just timed was left over from a
different race.
7. I remember that I always wanted to get my picture
taken
with The Awakening, but can't stop now.

5. At the turn-around, I learn there has been a

breeze at my back.
