Are you addicted to running? Do you think that a day without running is like a day without sunshine? Do you faithfully log your daily miles and proudly count the number of days/months/years you have accumulated without missing a day of running?

A running streak is defined by the US Running Streak Association as running at least one continuous mile within each calendar day under one's own body power (without the utilization of any type of health or mechanical aid other than prosthetic devices). If you have a running streak going, you should know about the USRSA.

The USRSA was organized to recognize the accomplishments of experienced runners who run on a daily basis, and strives to promote an awareness of and appreciation for the extraordinary commitment of these daily runners and to celebrate their contributions to the sport of distance running.

And, they are located right in our backyard! The organization is headed and administered by husband and wife team John and Dawn Strumsky in Millersville, MD. Some notable local streakers, taken from the association newsletter, The Streak Registry:
