The Kentlands Community Foundation announces on-line registration for the 16th annual 5K race. Registration begins July 1, 2009. This USATF Certified 5K course winds through the award-winning and scenic New Urbanism neighborhoods of the Kentlands and Lakelands of Gaithersburg, Maryland, featuring two (2) water stops and live entertainment along the course. Not only is it one of the area's largest 5K race event, but the race allows its charitable host, the Kentlands Community Foundation, to make a big impact on the lives of local residents in need through its annual 5K donation to one or more local charities each year. As a non-profit and philanthropic community-based organization, the Foundation has donated nearly $100,000 to local charities since 1994.
Â
The 5K race also serves as the opening event for annual Maryland's Senior Olympics.
On-line registration is at www.kentlands.org for 5K Run, Walk, Kids Fun Runs, and Maryland Senior Olympic participants.
