Marine Corps Historic Half Registration Savings Expires Soon

A special registration price featuring a $10 savings for the Marine Corps Historic Half marathon expires on February 23, when the lower cost entry fee of $65 escalates to $75. The Historic Half will be held on May 16, 2010 in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Online registration is available at www.marinemarathon.com. An additional savings of $10 is available to active duty and reserve military members. The event's hotel travel desk is accessible through a link from the confirmation e-mail sent to all registered runners or through the event Web site. Runners and guests may also find special offers from downtown restaurants and retailers to compliment their getaway weekend planning.

All registered runners receive a technical short sleeve participant shirt, an event program (courtesy of the Free Lance-Star), bib, D-tag timing device, post-race hospitality (provided by Camille's, Chick-Fil-A, and Wegmans), and free online trainer (provided by New Balance).

The Fredericksburg-hosted 13.1 mile course offers a blend of modern life and small town charm, beginning and ending at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center.  Conveniently located on I-95 between Washington, DC and Richmond, VA, the Historic Half marathon boasts scenic riverside views, a charming Old Town, and colonial and revolutionary landmarks.

The two-day Healthy Lifestyle Expo featuring official Packet Pick-up, plus health, fitness, diet, running and wellness exhibitors will be held on Friday, May 14 and
Saturday, May 15 as part of Historic Half Weekend. The Expo is free and open to the public.
