Arlington, VA
Since 1996, the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) has awarded over $300,000 in grants through its Roads Scholar program to assist American post-collegiate road runners who show great promise to develop into national and world class road running athletes.
Grants in the amount of $5,000 per year have been awarded to four to six athletes annually since the program's inception. The driving factor in the creation of this program was the goal of improving the state of long distance running in the United States.
RRCA Roads Scholar applicants must be recent college graduates, must be US citizens, and must be pursuing a career as an elite distance runner with a clear performance goal for the year. Also, applicants are eligible only if they expect to earn less than $30,000 from all sources during the calendar year
The RRCA is now accepting applications for the 2010-2011 Roads Scholar Class. The deadline for applying is Friday, April 30.

The program is 100% supported by contributions from events, clubs, and individual donors. Donate to the Roads Scholar Program in support of elite athlete development at www.rrca.org/about/support/
