Ragnar Relay Series presented by NordicTrack, the nation's top provider of overnight-relay races, returns again this year for the third annual Ragnar Relay Washington, DC.
Ragnar Relay Washington, DC is a 193 mile course guiding runners through some of North America's most influential landmarks with teams of 12 runners each running three legs. Legs range between three and eight miles and vary in difficulty, making it the ideal team race for runners of any level. The race begins in the Ridge-and-Valley Appalachian town of Cumberland, MD, where the trail leads runners through the thick forests of the Appalachian Mountains. Runners will make their way northeast passing through historic Civil War-Era towns. Saturday morning runners will make their way through our nation's Capitol, passing iconic memorials such as the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. Once through D.C., runners will make their way over the Potomac River and finish at the National Harbor.
Health and wellness is a top priority for Ragnar Relay and this year's race supports Back on My Feet. Back on My Feet is a nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to helping the homeless build self-sufficiency by engaging them in running as a means to gain confidence, self-esteem and strength. The organization provides the homeless a community that embraces equality, discipline, respect, teamwork and leadership by joining together to move their lives forward as well as the lives of their teammates. Participants and non participants can make donations to support the mission by visiting: backonmyfeet.org
