Fairfax, VA
Located at the Fairfax County Government Center!

This year's race is guaranteed to be fun for the whole family. Our 8K route winds through the neighborhoods around the Fairfax County Government Center and is held in conjunction with the 29th annual Celebrate Fairfax Festival. The race starts and ends on the Festival grounds. Whether you run the race or cheer on the runners, please stay to enjoy the sights and sounds of the fair. It will be an unforgettable day for the entire family.

Alternative House has put on a great race for 14 years, first in the Town of Vienna as the Toucan 10K. In 2006, when the race outgrew its location, the event moved to moved to the Celebrate Fairfax Festival with a 5K. The race became an 8K in 2007, 2008, and 2009. With a name change to the Rock the House 8K in 2007, it's been going strong ever since.

Fitness Together of Tysons Corner, www.fttysons.com, will be assisting with the pre-race warm-up and post-race stretching for all participants of this year's Rock the House 8K, benefitting the Alternative House. Come on out and have some fun warming-up and then join us for a quick stretch or massage to help you in your recovery after the race!

The 8K race entry fee is $30 through May 31; $35 after May 31.

Register on-line here. Or print this entry form and send a check payable to "Alternative House" to Rock the House 8K, 13710 Ashby Road, Rockville, MD 20853-2903. Or fax credit card entries to (301) 871-0006 before 6:00 p.m. on June 10.

List of Registered Runners

The ChronoTrack race timing system operated by Capital Running Company will be used to score the 8K race. The system uses a computer tag which must be tied to each runner's shoelaces, and records the exact time a runner crosses the starting line and the finish line, resulting in a net time for each runner. The ChronoTrack D-tag is disposable. Overall awards will be based upon clock time, and age group awards will be based upon transponder times.

Late Registration and Packet Pick-up

Registration and packet pick-up will be available at Whole Foods Market at 4501 Market Commons Drive Fairfax, VA 22033 from on Friday, June 11, from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
