Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children is excited to present the 5th annual Star Kid 8K Run/Walk benefitting the Pediatric Heart Program. Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children is a 186-bed, full-service children's hospital devoted to the healthcare of infants, children and adolescents in the Northern Virginia area. We are located on the campus of Inova Health System's flagship hospital, Inova Fairfax Hospital. Together we share state-of-the-art technology, research and teaching innovations, and a dedicated team approach to patient care, including national Magnet recognition for nursing excellence. As Northern Virginia's only pediatric tertiary care center, we provide only the highest level of care for our young patients. More than 400 board-certified pediatricians, family practice physicians and pediatric specialists provide care in the hospital's technologically advanced, yet child-friendly environment. Registration
Registration Fee: $20
On Race Day: $25
Children 12 & Under: $10
Registration fee use of the ChronoTrack timing system with its disposable D-tag, T-shirt, post-race refreshments, a chance for random prizes and entertainment.

On race day, packet pick-up and on-site registration will open at 7:00 a.m. near the start/finish line at George Mason University.

Post-Race
Post-race festivities include drawings for random prizes during the awards ceremony, music provided by Mix 107.3, food, refreshments, children's activities, and a cool-down led by Down Dog Yoga!
A certified, USATF 8K course through the campus of George Mason University and surrounding areas in Fairfax. Water stations on the course.
Awards
$2,000 cash purse!
First Place: $500 (male and female)
Second Place: $250 (male and female)
Third Place: $125 (male and female)
($125 to the first male and female Inova employees.)
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the first and second male and female finishers in five-year age groups:
14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.
Overall winners will be scored on "clock" time and age group winners will be scored on ChronoTrack net time. See information on running in a race with ChronoTrack timing.
Team Competition
Get your family, friends, and co-workers together and form a team. Teams may include up to 10 people. The first four finishers must include at least one member of the opposite sex to score. A prize will be awarded to the top co-ed team.

Family Fun Run
The 8K Run/Walk will be accompanied by a family fun run. Special $10 entry fee for children 12 and under in either event. The Fun Run will start at 8:05 a.m. and participants will run around Patriot Circle, which is 1.7 miles.

Directions
Directions to the George Mason University Fairfax Campus (4400 University Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030 MapQuest.) via I-66 West from Washington, DC, or Arlington: Take exit 60 at Route 123 South, Chain Bridge Road. Follow Route 123 through the City of Fairfax, and turn left at University Drive. Take your second right at George Mason Boulevard. Turn left at the stop sign onto Patriot Circle. Follow signs to the appropriate lot. See the map.
