2012 Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K

The 13th annual Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K presented by MARTIN’S is set for Saturday, March 31, 2012. The entry limit for the 2012 event is 42,500 participants. More than 41,000 people ran and walked the 2011 Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K, the 12th consecutive year the event set an entry record.
Registration for the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K is available at www.sportsbackers.org. The entry fee is $25 through December 31 and will rise to $30 on January 1. The Virginia 529 Kids Run entry fee is $10 through January 31. Online registration is also open for the 10-week YMCA 10K Training Team program that begins on January 21. The registration fee is $55 and includes entry in the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K. Anyone wishing to mail in their registration may download an entry form off the race website.
Shuttles added
For the first time, shuttles will be offered on race day. Anyone wishing to take advantage of the shuttle service on race day MUST purchase a ticket in advance at the Expo. There will be two separate shuttle pick-up locations: City Stadium and the Diamond.
Best of Competitor Award
Competitor Magazine recently announced its 2011 "Best of Competitor" awards. Endurance athletes from all over the country nominated their favorite races, specialty stores, clubs, and products, and the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K was named the Best 5K/10K race.
