Water Street Gym's February 12 Event Features Jeff Horowitz, Author of Smart Marathon Training

Water Street Gym in Georgetown is offering a free workshop and expo on Sunday, February 12 for Washington area runners, triathletes, and cyclists. The Water Street Gym Spring Kick Off will feature Jeff Horowitz, author of the new book Smart Marathon Training, who will offer an dynamic talk about how crosstraining and strength training can bring big performance gains to runners, triathletes, and cyclists. Horowitz, a certified running and triathlon coach and personal trainer, will take questions and autograph copies of his book. Partners from the Washington, DC endurance sports community will offer gear tips and advice, new product previews, treadmill gain analysis, and sports nutrition consultations.

Water Street Gym Spring Kickoff highlights include:
* Cycle Life Triathlon Team with Eric Sorenson will preview entry level triathlon bikes and demonstrate a proper tri bike fitting.
* Georgetown Running Company will introduce new shoe models from Brooks Running
* Bedrock Companies will provide food and refreshments.
* Kevin Maggs, DC of Active Spine and Sport will perform treadmill gait analysis for runners and triathletes.
* Rebecca Scritchfield, RD will take questions on sports nutrition and diet.
Jeff Horowitz is a certified running and triathlon coach and a personal trainer who has run more than 150 marathons across six continents. Formerly an attorney, he quit law to pursue his passion for endurance sport and now works with DC Tri; The Nations Triathlon; the nonprofit summer camp ACHIEVE Kids Triathlon; and Team Hope, a charity fund-raising training group that benefits the Hope Connections Center, a cancer-patients service organization.
