will be
looking for an e-mail message in their mailbox saying they have
been chosen to run
in the 28th Annual Marine Corps Marathon. For the third year,
the Marine

the men and
women who will participate in "The People's Marathon" on Sunday,
October 26, 2003.
By the time the six lottery drawings are complete on Tuesday,
May 20, 2003,
more than 18,000 people from all 50 states and dozens of
countries will be
registered to run Washington's oldest and best known marathon
and one of the
most popular marathon races in the world. Race Director Rick
Nealis will
call the first person drawn in the lottery, welcoming him or her
to the Marine
Corps Marathon family. Thousands of other hopefuls will receive
e-mail messages
announcing that they, too, have been chosen to run this year's
race. Those
not chosen will remain eligible for the remaining drawings.
