Two organizations are a natural match
The YMCA Loudoun County is pleased to announce Harris Teeter as the title sponsor for its 17th annual Leesburg 10K & 20K Race on Sunday, August 14, beginning at 8:15 a.m., at Market Station in Leesburg. Harris Teeter is building its presence in Northern Virginia, and Loudoun County in particular, and the YMCA is very proud to have been selected by Harris Teeter for this honor. Harris Teeter will provide all of the food and drinks for the race, as well as a sizeable cash contribution to the YMCA Loudoun County Building Bridges Campaign, which enables the YMCA to provide financial assistance to needy families who want to participate in YMCA programs, such as summer day camp and after school care.

Harris Teeter, a high-end supermarket, operates nearly 140 supermarkets, largely in North Carolina, but also in five other southeastern states. It has plans for further expansion in the Washington metropolitan area. A new store in Ashburn will open June 1st (not May 11th as orginally reported). The YMCA and Harris Teeter share many similar values. While the YMCA seeks to develop spirit, mind, and body in order to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities, Harris Teeter's approach to community outreach focuses on educating young people, feeding the hungry, and meeting specific community needs. The company has a history of giving back to the communities it serves in order to build strong, vibrant neighborhoods. The two organizations are a natural match.

For further information about the 10K & 20K Race, call the YMCA at (703) 777-9622. Visit our Web site at YMCA of Metropolitan Washington or see the race Web site at (click "Featured Races").
