The Army Ten-Miler is pleased to announce that TANDBERG has
signed on as a major sponsor for its 22nd annual ten-mile run.
In partnership with Freedom Calls, a not-for-profit
organization, TANDBERG will enhance the race weekend experience
for many military families by enabling deployed service members
to see their loved ones face-to-face during race weekend. Spouses of deployed members of the military can go for months
without talking to, much less seeing, their loved ones.
TANDBERG, a global leader in visual communication, works with
Freedom Calls, to try to alleviate this by providing
videoconferencing for families at three military installations
in Iraq. Together they deploy state of the art technology to
keep troops visually in touch with their families at no charge.
Not only can
separated families speak by phone, but they can also see each
other using video conferencing equipment provided by TANDBERG.
"TANDBERG is proud of our work with the U.S. military. We are
thrilled that we can play such a vital role in connecting
soldiers from distant points around the globe with their loved
ones in the U.S. Video delivers an emotional, face-to-face
connection that far surpasses letters, e-mails and phone calls,"
commented Joel Brunson, president of TANDBERG Federal.
Bringing families together through the use of this technology is
important and helps shed light on the sacrifice that American
military men and women and their families are making for this
country. The Army Ten- Miler is working with TANDBERG and
Freedom Calls to put deployed service members in touch with
loved ones during race weekend.
