Army Ten-Miler Announces New Co-Lead Sponsor

The 22nd Annual Army Ten-Miler is pleased to announce that KBR has joined The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) as co-lead sponsors for the 2006 race. "The Army Ten-Miler is one of the most anticipated events in the Washington, DC area. Given our long history of supporting the U.S. military in the field we are particularly proud to be able to co-sponsor this community oriented event with AUSA," said Bruce Stanski, executive vice president, KBR's Government and Infrastructure Division. AUSA has been a proud sponsor of the Army Ten-Miler since its founding 22 years ago.

"The Army Ten-Miler salutes all of its sponsors and is very proud to have AUSA and KBR carry on the event's tradition of excellence," commented Jim Vandak, Race Director. Online registration for the Army's race opened on April 3 and is filling up at record rates. At press time, the race had over 9,100 slots filled of its 24,000 capacity. Race weekend begins on Friday, October 6 with a variety of events and culminates with the running of the 2006 Army Ten-Miler on Sunday, October 8 at the Pentagon.

About the Army Ten-Miler

The 22nd Army Ten-Miler takes place on Sunday, October 8. This Army tradition annually attracts runners from all over the world, of a variety of experience levels, to run a course that starts and finishes at the Pentagon and passes such national landmarks as the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and the Capitol. Race weekend activities include a two-day race Expo, clinics and a press conference. Race day features Youth Runs, a Post Race Party featuring bands, entertainment and a live broadcast, the HOOAH Tent Zone, and a Youth Activity Zone complete with displays, inflatables, the GEICO Gecko, McGruff the Crime Dog, and much more.
